Incoming Passenger Card

Depending on what your destination country is; the cabin crew of your previous flight will hand over an Incoming Passenger Card for you to fill up and sign. Filling up this card is mandatory for you to enter Australia. Keep in mind that this is a legal document and you must answer all questions truthfully. In case you are unsure about a particular question, seek assistance before you sign and submit the card.

Immigration At The Destination Country

Once you reach Australia and get off the plane, you will need to go through immigration.
This is the process of entering the country legally. This is also when your “Permanent Residence” (if you are arriving on one) will come into effect. At the immigration counter, you’ll have to present your passport and the Incoming Passenger Card. Your identity will be verified and you will be permitted to enter Australia. Welcome!

Baggage Collection

After you get past the immigration counters you’ll find the baggage belts. A separate baggage belt is allotted to each flight, whose number is displayed prominently near the belt. Collect your baggage from the respective belt. Do not forget to collect all your bags!

Customs and Quarantine

After you collect your bags, proceed to the customs and quarantine counter. In Australia, there is very strict control over what can be brought into the country and everyone has to follow the guidelines. At quarantine, you could be asked to open your bags and you could be questioned about the items that you are carrying. Make sure that you have packed your luggage as per the guidelines specified by the Customs And Quarantine Authorities.
